The goal of our Energy Program is to increase innovation velocity in all sectors of clean energy research, development, and deployment in the marketplace. We aim to discover unique niches for need of funding in the energy innovation value chain and fill those gaps in creative ways that focus on investing in people, not projects.

Earth Systems
The goal of our Earth Systems Research Program is to ignite high risk research at the proof-of-concept stage, before a researcher has the ability to craft a proposal for corporate sponsorship or government funding. Most gifts are made to projects in civil and environmental engineering or earth, atmospheric, and planetary sciences.

Rochester Community Building
The goal of our Rochester Community Building Program is to make long-term improvement in the quality of life for targeted communities in the Greater Rochester area of Upstate New York. The program focuses on two areas that reflect the Chesonis family’s values: 1) improving educational facilities and 2) improving facilities for care of individuals with special needs.
